The Wartook Valley.

Wartook Valley is an area of unspoilt and diverse scenery near the northern section of the Grampians National Park.
A popular destination for lovers of the outdoors, it offers opportunities to bushwalk, rock climb, fish, watch birds and wildlife or just get away from it all.

Mount Zero, Hollow Mountain and Mount Staplyton are located just minutes away and some of the most spectacular Grampians waterfalls are within easy reach, including the majestic MacKenzie Falls.

The area surrounded by the Wartook Valley is steeped in aboriginal and pioneer history.
It is one of the best wildflower regions in the park with a number of native wildflower farms open to the public.

  • Feel the mist of some magnificent waterfalls such as the famous Mckenzies Falls or the smaller but very picturesque Beehive Falls.

  • See striking displays of wildflowers from late Winter to Summer.

  • Browse through the Wartook Valley Gift Shop and Artists Studio to find the perfect gift or souvenir.  Finish off with lunch or a yummy Devonshire tea in the Cafe.

  • Enjoy a picnic or barbecue at one of the many camp/barbecue sites. 

  • Gallop through the gum trees or plod along at your own pace at the Grampians Horse Riding Adventures.

  • Take up the challenge of rock climbing and abseiling at Mount Stapylton.

  • Stock up on fuel, food, alcohol and all your other basic needs at the Happy Wanderer General Store.

  • Want something a bit different?  Try Namaskaar Indian Restaurant for great curries or Meringa Springs for pure indulgence or romantic dinner for two.

  • Cast a line out at Lake Wartook and wait for the fish to take the bait.

  • Wake up to kangaroos outside your cottage or seek out their favourite haunts on Mount Victory Rd or Roses Gap Rd. 
    There's plenty of emus and other bird/wildlife too.
